Collection
Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly, including your name, email address, account credentials through our authentication providers, household member details, diet preferences, allergies, health conditions, goals, and meal-planning inputs.
We also collect service data created while you use Emeal, such as generated meal plans, grocery suggestions, saved plans, subscription status, payment references from our billing provider, and support messages.
Basic technical data may be collected automatically, including IP address, browser and device information, pages visited, approximate location inferred from your inputs, and logs needed to secure and operate the service.
Use
How we use that information
We use your information to create meal plans, tailor nutrition guidance, support family-level planning, maintain your account, process subscriptions, prevent abuse, troubleshoot issues, and improve product quality.
Health-related inputs are used only to personalize meal-planning outputs and safety guardrails inside the product. Emeal is not a medical provider, and the service does not replace professional medical diagnosis or treatment.
We may use aggregated or de-identified usage patterns to evaluate feature performance, improve generation quality, and understand product reliability without intentionally identifying individual users.
Sharing
When we share information
We share data with infrastructure and service providers that help us operate Emeal, including authentication, database hosting, AI generation, analytics, and subscription billing. They receive only the information needed to perform those functions.
We may disclose information if required to comply with law, enforce our terms, respond to valid legal requests, detect fraud or security incidents, or protect the rights, safety, and property of Emeal, our users, or others.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their independent advertising use.
Retention
How long we keep data
We retain account, subscription, and plan data for as long as your account remains active and for a reasonable period afterward when needed for legal, security, billing, backup, or dispute-resolution purposes.
If you request deletion, we will remove or anonymize data unless we are required to keep specific records for legitimate business or legal reasons.
Choices
Your rights and controls
You can update certain account information inside the product. You can also request access, correction, deletion, or export of personal data, subject to applicable law and technical limitations.
For account access issues, use the password reset flow. For subscription questions or data requests, use the guidance on the Support page.
Security
Security and children
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect the information we store. No internet-based service can guarantee absolute security, so you should also use a strong password and protect access to your devices.
Emeal is intended for users old enough to form a binding agreement under applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate authorization, contact us through the support process so we can review and remove the data where appropriate.
Updates
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the product, laws, or our data practices evolve. When changes are material, we will update the date above and may provide additional notice inside the product or by email.
Your continued use of Emeal after an updated policy becomes effective means the new policy will apply going forward.
